What Is Green?

W.F. Gillespie Construction, New Home Builder in Citrus County, Florida, hopes to help our customers to understand What Is Green? It is a challenging question with many meanings depending on the project and person asking the question. W.F. Gillespie Construction in Citrus County, Florida knows you can just look at the U.S. in general. There are many different certifications that exist in many regions.

W.F. Gillespie, a member of the Florida Green Building Coalition ( FGBC) , realizes that our customers are changing the way they think of homes. W. F. Gillespie Construction hopes to educate the consumer to become a better home buyer.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has introduced a new Green Homes Program to help answer the “Green” question. The NAHB defines “Green“  in that “Green” is believing a sustainable building can be achieved through advancements in technologies and correct application and documentation.

W.F. Gillespie knows that technology will continue to advance in the “Green” industry. Our concern is to stay up to date on these technologies for our customer’s benefit. Today, W.F. Gillespie Construction is hard at work dealing with what is going on “behind the walls”. A “Green” Certification confirms what the customer cannot see. The confirmation that the home has been certified is important if the property is sold or renovated in the future. Knowing how the home was certified can be beneficial if new options are added in the future.

As time progresses, so will the current standards. Building a “Green” Certified home with W.F. Gillespie in Citrus Countytoday is not an ending, but a beginning. Remember that proper maintenance of the home also plays a role in the value of the certification over time. Contact W.F. Gillespie
